Qualified Lawyers

To meet the demands of its ever-increasing workload, the firm is continually recruiting at all levels.

Many of our lawyers are fluent in several foreign languages, which they use regularly in the course of our business. Languages, though certainly an advantage, are not, however, a pre-requisite for employment at the firm.

It is the firm's policy to expand not only through organic growth but also through lateral hires at partnership level, principally in its specialist practice areas but also in other areas having clear synergies with the firm's core strengths.

Young qualified lawyers starting out on their career may be confident of receiving whatever additional training they need in a friendly and collegiate atmosphere.

Qualified applicants at all levels should apply in strictest confidence to the Senior Partner.

Trainees

The firm places a high priority on the recruitment and training of Trainee Solicitors.  They are expected to play an important role in the firm during their training contract and we hope that those trainees who have performed well will stay with the firm after qualifying.

The two year period of training is divided into four six-month stages to enable trainees to gain experience in the firm's principal practice areas.  We ensure that they work very closely with a partner or senior assistant who will give them practical training and guidance in as wide a variety of work as possible.  They will be given as much professional responsibility and contact with clients as they demonstrate they can handle.  They are taught how to formulate advice to clients and draft documents and statements of case.  The aim is to ensure that upon qualification they are well set on the road to being rounded commercial lawyers.

All candidates should have a good degree (minimum 2:1) but this need not be in law.  We expect all candidates to have passed the Law Society's Legal Practice Course before starting the training contract.

We offer excellent working conditions and all members of staff are encouraged to participate in a variety activities held during the year, both with clients and within the firm.  The firm occupies a modern building close to the Barbican Centre in the City of London.

It is our policy to pay competitive City rates to our trainee solicitors.

Applications for a training contract, accompanied by a letter and CV, should be addressed to Carole Chattey (E-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
